The mission of the Legal Services Support Team is to provide professional and efficient legal services to active duty personnel and their immediate family members stationed aboard Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, as well as retired service members in the surrounding area.

Reliable and effective trial services, administrative law services, and defense services are also provided to commands and personnel aboard Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point.

Tax Center:

The Cherry Point Tax Center is now OPEN for the 2020 Tax Season.  Due to COVID-19 we are limited in the amount of walk-ins we will accept. We ask that you please call and make an appointment. Thank you for your patronage!

Legal Assistance:

DUE TO THE OUTBREAK OF CORONAVIRUS DISEASE 2019 (COVID-19), OUR OFFICE IS IMPLEMENTING NEW PROCEDURES EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY:

The Cherry Point Legal Assistance office is now seeing all eligible active duty, dependent, and retiree clients.

To minimize exposure, clients looking to update their wills and estate documents are encouraged to download the worksheet on our Estate Planning page HERE.

State Notary Public Services Monday, Wednesday, and Friday  0800 – 1100; Tuesday and Thursday 0730-1100 and 1300-1530.

Separation and Divorce brief Wednesday morning.  Due to COVID we are restricting the brief to 10 people.  The brief starts at 0830 and you must be checked in with Legal Assistance by 0800. 

Walk-in office hours to pick up/drop off -- Power of Attorney’s, Estate document worksheets, family law worksheets or to schedule appointments, the office will be open Monday – Thursday 0730 – 1100 and 1300 – 1530; Friday 0730-1100.   

Defense Services:

Walk-in/NJP counselings will continue starting Thursday, 19 March.  Due to social distancing measures, we will limit the number of clients in the building awaiting counseling.  If commands have servicemembers who have been exhibiting signs of illness to be counseled, they can contact the Defense Services Office to coordinate electronic delivery of documents for the counseling and an opportunity for counseling by phone.
