ANNOUNCEMENTS
Good morning and happy 14 March 2025 (pie day for you math lovers) !! Registration is now closed for The Small Business Outreach on 27 March 2025! We reached our maximum capacity of 100, so very happy to see the level of interest! Don't worry you can always contact me at chris.rabassi@usmc.mil to learn how to be eligible and competitive for Department of Defense contracts, and about the support organizations ready to assist you.
For those coming to the 27 March event, the event starts at 9:00 AM at the Tun Alley Event Center and here are the directions:
From Wilson Gate: Go 5.5 miles to Holcomb Blvd South. It will veer right. Go through two stop lights. After you pass The Inns you on the right you will immediately see the sign for Tun Allen on the right. Enter through the doors with “Tun Alley Event Center” over the door.
From Holcomb (Main) Gate: Go straight and you will go through four 4 stop lights, and the total distance is almost four miles. Once you go through the fourth light you will pass The Inns on your right. Immediately after you pass the Inns, you will see the sign for Tun Allen on the right. Enter through the doors with “Tun Alley Event Center” over the door.
The SECOND Quarter of Fiscal Year 2025 is in its final month! Again, this is the time to ensure your business is eligible for Department of Defense contracts. Remember our lessons learned from Fiscal Year 2024:
1. We had several instances where woman-owned businesses and service-disabled businesses were not properly certified by the Small Business Administration. All WOSBs/SDVOSBs must go to www.sba.gov to ensure they are compliance with current policies.
2. Several businesses provided proposals, but their System for Award Management record was expired. Businesses must go to www.sam.gov to ensure their record is current.
3. HUBZone participation. We had very few proposals from Historically Underutilized Business Zone businesses. Not sure why, but we need more HUBZone participation in FY25.
4. I have completed the Long-Range Estimate for 2025. This will give your business insight into service contracts coming up for re-compete in FY25.
5. The requirement to comply with the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) goes into effect this December. The North Carolina Military Business Center (www.ncmbc.us) will be hosting classes to inform you of all the requirements.
