Visitation

Regular visiting hours are 0900-1100 on Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays. Visitors, please arrive 15 minutes prior for check-in. A valid state or federal photo identification is required. Improperly attired persons will be refused entry and politely asked to put appropriate attire on (see below). No cameras or cell phones are permitted inside the Brig. Visitors must be on the individual prisoner’s Mail and Visitation List, which is approved in advance of the visit.

The MCI- East Regional Brig is located aboard Marine Corps Installations East-Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, 1039 Duncan St.

 


VISITATION REGULATIONS

1)    Personal interviews and telephonic communication between prisoners and media representatives ARE NOT AUTHORIZED. Please contact Communication Strategy & Operations (formerly Public Affairs) at (910) 451-5655.
2)    Visitors will sign in upon entry to the Brig quarterdeck and show their picture identification card to the Brig staff in exchange for a visitor badge.  The visitor badge will be worn on the front of their outside garment above the waist and in full view.
3)    Visitors must consent to an electronic search prior to entering the visitation area.  Persons refusing electronic search will be denied access into the facility.
4)    No personal items will be allowed into the visiting area (i.e. back packs, purses, diaper bags; any electronic devices; weapons, writing gear, keys, food, drink, or headgear, etc). Personal items will be stored in a visitation locker provided or in your vehicle.  Locker keys must be returned upon completion of the visit.
5)    Visits by unmarried persons under the age of 18 will not be permitted unless accompanied with their parent or legal guardian.
6)    A brief embrace and kiss at the beginning and end of the visit, along with holding hands in plain view of the Brig staff is permitted; no other physical contact is authorized.  Other physical contact or inappropriate behavior will result in the termination of the visit.
7)    All attire must meet the standards of base and Marine Corps regulations. Visitors in revealing attire or attire deemed outside Marine Corps regulations will not be permitted inside the facility.
8)    Children will be allowed one small toy, baby bottle, factory sealed drink and snack during the visit.  The restrooms on the quarterdeck will be utilized for the use of changing diapers or breast feeding.
