U.S. Marine Corps Col. Michael Scalise, deputy commander, Marine Corps Installations East, Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune retired after 30 years of honorable and faithful service during a ceremony held at the Paradise Point Officer’s Club on Oct. 5, 2018. Scalise was awarded the Legion of Merit Gold Star (in lieu of second award). Brig. Gen. Julian D. Alford, commander of MCIEAST and MCB Camp Lejeune, was the retiring official.
