Defense Biometric Identification System

DBIDS - Base Access Update - Dec. 11, 2018

Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune and Marine Corps Air Station New River will continue to accept valid, unexpired access credentials from non-affiliated contractors, vendors and other required personnel for installation access during the Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) transition.

In order to reduce wait time when exchanging an existing access credential, it is highly recommended each applicant pre-register at https://dbids-global.dmdc.mil/enroll#!/.  Once the pre-registration data is entered into the system, it will be retained for 30 days.

Current contractors who hold unexpired base access credentials should proceed to the MCB Camp Lejeune Contractor Vetting Office (CVO), located at TT-13, adjacent the Wilson Gate, to exchange their current credential for a DBIDS credential.

Current contractors can exchange their credentials Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Contractors can exchange their current credential for a DBIDS credential without re-vetting, however they will be required to bring the following items:

  • Current credential
  • Second form of government-issued identification (driver license, passport, etc.)
  • Company Contract/Letter of Authorization

DBIDS credentials will be valid for the duration of the contract, not to exceed five years; however, re-vetting of individuals’ information will occur each year.

New contractors can apply for a DBIDS credential Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

  • New contractors requiring access for over 60 days will receive a credential valid for up to one year.
  • New contractors requiring access for less than 60 days will receive a temporary paper pass.

If you have questions regarding the exchange of a current base access credential for a DBIDS credential, or you are a new contractor seeking enrollment into DBIDS, please contact the CVO at 910-450-0283/0284/0285.

New Access Control System (DBIDS) Delayed Until Further Notice - June 21, 2018

The previously-announced new installation access control system, Defense Biometric Identification System, or DBIDS, has been temporarily delayed at both Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune and Marine Corps Air Station New River, due to technical difficulties that are currently awaiting a solution. At this time, a new transition date has not been set and contractors will not be able to exchange their current credentials for DBIDS credentials on June 25, as previously planned. Current contractors are still urged to pre-enroll into DBIDS at https://dbids-global.dmdc.mil/enroll#!/ so their information will be readily available once the system comes online.

For installation access, current contractors are advised to continue to provide their RAPIDGate or MCESS credential along with a valid government-issued identification card. Until the DBIDS system comes online, new contractors will be issued a temporary pass, through the Camp Lejeune Contractor Vetting Office, Building TT-13, next to the Wilson Gate. Temporary passes will be granted for a period of up to 59 days at which time a new temporary pass must be secured in order to access the installation.

As a reminder, this delay has no impact on individuals holding a valid Common Access Card (CAC), dependent ID card, reserve ID card, or retiree ID card issued by the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS).

If you have further questions, please contact the Contractor Vetting Office at 910-450-0283/0284/0285.
