Deadline for Defense Biometric I.D. System (DBIDS) credential requirement nears

CAMP LEJEUNE AND MCAS NEW RIVER, N.C. (Feb. 1, 2019) - Non-affiliated contractors, vendors and other personnel will be required to secure a DBIDS credential prior to April 1, 2019 for installation access. Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune and Marine Corps Air Station New River will continue to accept valid, unexpired access credentials for installation access until March 31, 2019. Individuals who do not possess a valid DBIDS credential on April 1, will not be allowed to access to the installation.

In order to reduce wait time when exchanging an existing access credential, it is highly recommended each applicant pre-register at https://dbids-global.dmdc.mil/enroll#!/.  Once the pre-registration data is entered into the system, it will be retained for 30 days.

Current contractors who hold unexpired base access credentials should proceed to the MCB Camp Lejeune Contractor Vetting Office (CVO), located at TT-13, adjacent the Wilson Gate, to exchange their current credential for a DBIDS credential.

Current contractors can exchange their credentials Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Contractors can exchange their current credential for a DBIDS credential without re-vetting, however they will be required to bring the following items:

  • Current credential
  • Second form of government-issued identification (driver license, passport, etc.)
  • Company Contract/Letter of Authorization

DBIDS credentials will be valid for the duration of the contract, not to exceed five years; however, re-vetting of individuals’ information will occur each year.

New contractors can apply for a DBIDS credential Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

  • New contractors requiring access for over 60 days will receive a credential valid for up to one year.
  • New contractors requiring access for less than 60 days will receive a temporary paper pass.

If you have questions regarding the exchange of a current base access credential for a DBIDS credential, or you are a new contractor seeking enrollment into DBIDS, please contact the CVO at 910-450-0283/0284/0285.
