The White Oak River trestle bridge is an integral component in the 34-mile rail line that moves heavy military equipment and supplies between Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune and Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point. Four years ago, the Marine Corps Base (MCB) Camp Lejeune area experienced the wettest tropical cyclone on record in the Carolinas. Today, $3.6 billion in new construction and repairs are flourishing across the base and air stations with a heavy emphasis on ensuring the new infrastructure is able to withstand future weather events.
